What captures me?
After decades of travel to Ireland (the west especially) I realized I bore witness to a history unknown to most Americans. History is alive in Ireland and the poets live in the past/present realm. I have been fascinated with how much of the past is tangible there and have tried to bring alive what I have seen.
Hallowed Ground- The Ireland Project
“Hallowed Ground,” said Shepherd, “is a show about spirit, about inner life.” The exhibition pays, “tribute to the devotion of the faithful and its continuity from the Neolithic Erin to contemporary Ireland,"

Pastel Landscapes
Gaal Shepherd's pastel interpretations of Vermont's peaceful and verdant landscape are beautiful, luminous, and by her own admission and intent, just a bit mysterious.
